HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT

Summary: Responsible for performing a variet of administrative Human Resource duties through general office support functions and assists department personnel as necessary.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Set up new employee files for the Racing and Food & Beverage departments; also maintain current employee personnel files
  • Purge terminated employee files for transfer to inactive file cabinets
  • Serve as back up for the Receptionist position
  • Type letters and memos directed for the HR folder
  • Enter employee personnel actions on People Trak
  • Pull reports or information as needed for the monthly directors' meeting
  • Update employee I-9 information and Emergency Contact forms
  • Performs miscellaneous clerical functions and special projects as assigned
  • Attends and participates in meetings, reserves and prepares facilities, and records and transcribes minutes in grievance hearings
  • Update grievance summary spreadsheet on active or closed grievances
  • Makes copies of correspondance or other printed materials
  • Prepares rejection letters for mailing, and correspondance, including e-mail and faxes
  • Submits supply orders to the Accounting department
  • Pay based on experience

Education and/or Experience

  1. A bachelor's degree in Human Resource, OR
  2. Seven (7) years experience in the HR field, OR
  3. Any similar combination of education and experience
  4. Professional in Human Resource (PHR) certification preferred
