GROUP SALES REPRESENTATIVE
Summary: Sells hotel guest rooms, catering services and banquet facilities through direct client contact to maximize total rooms revenues and profits.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for effectively selling and negotiating hotel guest rooms, event space, catering services and banquet facilities through direct client contact to maximize total rooms revenues and profits
- Establish client base of organizations, associations and businesses through direct outside and inside sales efforts
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients to produce group and/or convention business
- Respond to new business inquiries as well as booking repeat business
- Proactively solicit new business via cold calls, site visits, e-mail blitzes, trade shows, conventions, exhibitor's services, networking, outside sales solicitation, etc.
- Identify target markets and contact sales prospects and others as assigned
- Follow-up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity
- Prepares daily, weekly and monthly sales status reports
- Communicate information and/or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff
- Negotiates guest room rates, meeting room rentals, function space and hotel services within approved booking guidelines
- Prepare and present sales contracts for approval to sales manager
- Confirms in writing to the client all requirements via sales contract upon approval from sales manager
- Documents outcome and follow-up strategies for each event to gain new/additional business
- Responsible for accurately and effectively checking availability of banquet space as well as booking space for events
- Attend trade show, community events and industry meetings
- Conducts tours of the hotel and banquet facilities and entertains potential clients as needed
- Pay based on experience
